Student Event Coordinator Intern
Job Description: The student event coordinator intern is in charge of assisting in the planning and facilitating of youth, college, and church-wide events while fulfilling various tasks around the office and participation in church activities. Specific duties include: planing and facilitating existing events, creating and planning new events, primary facilitator of college ministry, and completing various office tasks during office hours (one day a week to be decided upon depending on schedules).
Requirements and Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, member of Faith Bible Church, desire to seek a future in vocational ministry, basic computing skills (i.e. Word processing, Powerpoint, Excel, etc.), ability to work well and communicate with others, desire to be mentored and mentor others.
Benefits and Opportunities: This is an unpaid internship, however the experiences you have and relationships you make are priceless. If you are looking for a church family, I believe you will find no better than the Faith Bible family. The caring mentors and helpful families at Faith will help to guide you through the year. Also, for someone wanting to enter the field of church ministry, this internship is priceless. I received an amazing look behind the scenes of what it takes to run a christian ministry. From planning events to working under a board of elders, my well rounded experiences in the last year will set me up for very successful careers in both event planning and church ministry.
Achievements: Through this internship, I gained lots of valuable knowledge such as how to work under a board of elders, produce marketing materials, and reserve vendors and accommodations. I was given the opportunity to plan and coordinate an overnight retreat for college students. This was the first event that I have planned by myself from start to finish. It was a huge success and I learned so much through the process. I also was able to assist in the planning of a 12 day mission trip to Romania. While there, I was a key administrator and the games coordinator for a 6 day christian camp for Romanian youth. Through these experiences, I feel exponentially more confident in my ability to plan and coordinate events with minimal supervision which I believe will help me greatly in starting a new career.
